First night in the crib

At six weeks, Julia is now sleeping in her crib. She's a great sleeper - giving us 5 or 6 straight hours of sleep most nights. She has lots of room to grow in her new bed!

Cousins Finally Meet!

Over the weekend, Sean and Tina drove up from FL. Their new son Jack finally got to meet his new cousin Julia. Lot's of fun was had by all... even Grandma Solly and Grandpa Sam joined in on the party.
Here are the two new mommies.

Two cool cousins....

Jack... quit hitting Julia and making her cry!

The weekend started out just fine...

...and then got out of hand quickly!

Her First Bottle

Here's Julia's first bottle... Dad is so excited to be able to offer it to her...

Yard Work Relief!

Through all of this, Dad is trying to keep the yard looking nice.... and what does he get in return?... a fantastic looking wife bringing him a cold beer - and a chance for a family hug!

First Bath

Here's our baby girl getting her first bath.... in the kitchen sink!

Everyone wants to see Julia!

Soon after coming home we had lots of visitors. Grandma Solly and Grandpa Sam stayed with us for a while... and Grandma Lillian also got to spend some quality time with her new granddaughter.

Aunt Sandy stayed with us and Randy, Joan, Katie & Millie all stopped in too. Finally, we can't forget about our in-town friends, Gary and Nancy, who made the long trip from inside the Atlanta perimeter.

Julia's Homecoming

So we packed up the car and our new kid and headed for Buford. Here is what we found waiting on us when we drove up! (thanks neighbors!)

We want to go home!

OK, enough of this hospital - take us home!

A new dawn with a new Dad

This is one of my favorite shots so far. Taken in the hospitial, Mom was getting some much needed sleep and I held Julia while the sun was rising. This was a major bonding moment.

Those toes!

Here's a shot of Julia's toes. I think that her Dad's toes and her Mom's toes have combined to make some sort of super-toe'd kid!

Lot's of visitors

J&J&J spent 5 nights at Northside. During this time we had plenty of visitors. Moms, Dads and lots of friends came by to see Julia and her new parents. Here are a few pics from some of those visits!

Grandma Solly!

Grandpa Jim and Grandma Frieda

Chris and Heather - who actually came back a day later to have their own baby!

Amy!

Uncle Randy, Ricky, Py and Tracy also stopped in for visits... I guess we were too tired to take anymore pics!

March 14th, 2006

J&J arrived at Northside after dealing with Atlanta traffic on Tuesday morning. We checked in and soon after Sam & Solly and Lillian & Joe arrived to wait for the good news. March 14th is Solly's birthday - and what a great day to find out that you have a new Granddaughter!

Jeanne did great, as we all knew she would! The Dr's let Joe announce if we had a boy or a girl. I think we were all truly surprised!

... warning, these pictures have been known to trigger tears of joy.

Here's a video of the first time Mom meets Julia....

Don't forget about Oakley!

Of course we can't forget about our first boy, Oakley. Here's a shot the night before our baby arrived.

Last Ultrasound

As we got closer to Jeanne's due date, our Dr's visits increased to once a week. This is on March 13th. The baby didn't seem to be as low as the Dr's wanted her to be, so we got an ultrasound. This time they measured the baby's head and a couple of bones. The prediction was that we were about to have a 10lb 10oz baby!

Beacuse of this, we were scheduled for a C-section the next day. As much of a shock that this was, the brave side of Jeanne came through and we prepared oursleves to become parents.

Baby Shower in Buford

Our neighbor Richard graciously offered to host a baby shower for us.
Here's a few shots of the great fun had by all.

Check out a few of the kids having fun in J&J's front yard.

Note: Another Baby Shower was thrown in Warner Robins, but Joe and Sam were out at the VFW having too much fun to take any pictures.
